Since I was a little girl, I have always been curious. Questioning everything. And this curiosity has turned me into an Astrophile. I like to read astronomy books and watch sci-fi movies and stargaze of course. In 2020 I bought my very first telescope 🔭 from Celestron and since then I started doing astrophotography. I also communicate science mainly in the field of Astronomy and space sciences, both online and offline.

Busting a pseudo science statement which is currently regulating on the YouTube channel of @beerbiceps in huge numbers.
Also, “visiting constellations”. No one can visit constellations. It’s not a place. It’s just some stars which when seen from the surface of the Earth seems to make some certain shapes. That’s all. Planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies are some celestial places to go but constellations are just a made up thing by humans which only works when you observe the stars from our planet.

December is going to be full of astronomical events! Who's excited? 🎉
Oh, and I have not mentioned about 2 events in the post and I am going to describe those here in the caption on why I did so.

1. Total Solar Eclipse (Dec 4) - This eclipse is going to be a great one but it will be mostly visible from Antarctica, and some parts of South Africa.
2. Ursids Meteor Shower (Dec 21-22) - This is a minor meteor shower that produces around 5-10 meteors per hour at its peak. Also, this meteor shower will happen around the full moon, meaning that the light of the waning gibbous moon (almost full moon) will block out those few meteors as well.

This issue seriously need to be addressed. I’m definite that whoever starts to talk about the biggest questions about the universe, people around start mocking them saying “you’re crazy”.

When this is not enough, rather than contributing to the conversation (which a space nerd expects) - people start convincing them to not talk about it by saying stupid things like “Don’t think too much about the universe or you’ll go mental”, as if mental health is just a joke.

Anyways, keeping the mental health issue apart since that’s not the main topic here- we seriously need to ANSWER the society telling them why discussing, and studying such topics isn’t any joke and why it should be done.

12-09-2021 • What's the most special thing that happened on my birthday and I couldn't post a picture of it? Well, after coming back from my birthday dinner, as usual to my habit, I looked up at the sky as I stepped out of the car and that's when I saw the 'gift' from the universe - to me - a beautiful meteor! 💫 💝

This is how I celebrated my birthday the 'spacey way'. Just some astronomy props and the solar system cake, and of course the meteor was more than enough to make my day so perfect.

What is SUPER FLOWER BLOOD MOON? 🌕
1. Perigee moon: meaning that the moon is nearest to the Earth tonight.
2. This is what makes it a SUPERMOON too!
3. Flower moon: Full moon happens every month and there are a set of names for each full moon. For the month of May, we call the full moon as “Flower moon”!
4. Blood moon: The red colour on the moon is caused by sunlight which is filtered from Earth’s atmosphere while Lunar eclipse!
